## Description

The Ethiopian Space Science Society (ESSS) is a nonprofit organization established in 2004 by 47 founding members. It brings together professionals in astronomy, astrophysics, space science and technology, as well as individuals and institutions interested in these fields. ESSS works to promote space science in Ethiopia, support space professionals, and initiate and develop national space projects. The society reports more than 15,000 individual members, 30 branch associations, over 58 institutional members, and more than 100 Space School Clubs.

ESSS offers public lectures, outreach activities, training, workshops, seminars and other educational programs. Its activities include space training delivered in cities such as Hawassa, a summer public lecture series, and events such as the Yuri’s Night celebration. The society also provides opportunities for people to get involved through regular and youth membership, volunteering, internships, job applications, and institutional affiliation. Its website shares news, event information, resources and opportunities, including scholarships and vacancies, and invites supporters to contribute through sponsorship and donations.
