Eutaw Construction, named after the resilient Eutaw clay found in Northeast Mississippi and Alabama, has been a leading player in the heavy civil construction industry since its establishment in 1980 by Thomas S. Elmore. Initially drawn to the area as a Project Manager for Granite Construction Company, Elmore oversaw the construction of the Aberdeen Lock and Dam on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway before founding Eutaw in Aberdeen, Mississippi.

Today, Eutaw stands as a unique and employee-focused company. In 2012, all the minority shareholders, including Elmore, sold their stake, resulting in Eutaw becoming a 100% ESOP (employee stock ownership plan). This makes Eutaw a rarity in the industry.

The current leadership, led by President Jonathan Hust and Executive Vice President Lane Williams, continues to carry the torch passed on by Elmore, who remains Chairman of the Board. With an impressive track record, Eutaw specializes in various disciplines such as constructing state and federal highways, bridges, utility projects, large-scale site development, airfield construction, and disaster relief. Their expansive fleet of heavy equipment, valued at approximately $40 million, enables them to take on diverse projects throughout most of the Southeastern United States.
