## Description

The Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) is an international astronomy collaboration that links radio telescopes around the world to study supermassive black holes and their immediate surroundings. By combining observations from its distributed telescope array, the EHT produces detailed measurements and images that help researchers investigate black holes, their magnetic fields, and the jets of material they launch. Its work includes observations of objects such as the black hole at the center of the galaxy Messier 87 and the candidate supermassive binary system OJ287.

The EHT supports scientific research by sharing information about its publications, data products, and proposal opportunities for astronomers. It also provides updates through press releases, a news blog, and media resources, helping explain new findings to journalists and the public. The collaboration organizes meetings and events and offers public outreach alongside resources for researchers. Its organization, funding, industry donors, awards, and technical approach are also described on its website.
