## Description

Evergreen ILS is a highly scalable software designed specifically for libraries to help patrons easily find library materials while also assisting libraries in managing and cataloging their vast collections. As an open-source integrated library system (ILS), Evergreen is used by over 2,000 libraries worldwide. Apart from providing a user-friendly public catalog interface, Evergreen also enables back-of-house operations like circulation, acquisitions, and resource sharing among library groups. Initially developed by the Georgia Public Library System in 2006, Evergreen has since been adopted by numerous library consortia and individual libraries, extending its reach beyond North America. What sets Evergreen apart is its active and growing development community, which includes dedicated librarians who contribute documentation, bug reports, and organizational input. Evergreen offers a range of functionalities, such as being a metadata search engine and transaction processing engine, all built on the robust and scalable OpenSRF framework. To learn more about Evergreen and get involved, explore the FAQs, roadmap, and public demos on the project site. Connect with the Evergreen community through mailing lists, IRC channels, and Facebook.
