Ewerderfler Narrengemeinschaft e.V. is a carnival association based in Gengenbach in the Kinzig Valley, active since 1952. As a free carnival community, it is an established part of Gengenbach’s historic Fasend celebrations and follows the local motto, “All for joy, none for sorrow.” Rooted in the town’s Oberdorf district, known locally as Ewerderf, the group celebrates the fifth season with a strong connection to its home community. Its activities focus especially on street carnival in Gengenbach, while members also participate in parades beyond the area. The association’s main character is the Rotzlöffel, represented by a cheeky rascal-style mask inspired by Swabian-Alemannic carnival traditions. The Ewerderfler are known for playful pranks and humorous interactions with local residents and visitors. With 80 active Rotzlöffel, the group brings this lively tradition to public celebrations.
