## Description

NakshaBot is a free online map-making tool designed to help Census 2027 enumerators create HLB layout maps, also known as Nazari Nakshas. Created by Kratagya Singh, the service turns an assigned enumeration area into a printable map using satellite imagery and OpenStreetMap data. Users can define block boundaries, view local roads and landmarks, place symbols for pucca and kutcha houses, apartments, and non-residential units, then number buildings automatically or manually. Numbering options include serpentine and Census U-loop routes, while adaptive symbol sizing and collision avoidance help keep maps readable. The editor also supports labels, farmland and block polygons, apartment flat counts, and saved drafts. Completed maps can be exported as A4 PDFs with a legend, route, and user credentials. NakshaBot aims to reduce the time spent drawing maps by hand, with the site describing a typical workflow as taking around 15 minutes. It is offered at no cost to enumerators. An internet connection is required, and users are advised to verify building usage in the field.
