## Description

The Exeter Historical Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Exeter, New Hampshire. Founded in 1928, it collects artifacts from the town’s past and present, helping connect the community with its local heritage. Visitors can explore exhibits, historical programs, videos, and online resources covering topics such as Exeter’s role in American independence, race in Exeter, immigration stories, the Exeter Dam, and local figures including Amos Tuck. The Society also offers walking tours, educational materials for children, research and genealogy resources, cemetery records, and a blog. Its History Minute series presents brief stories about Exeter’s history, while events and special exhibits provide further opportunities to learn. The Society welcomes visitors at its location on Front Street during designated weekly hours.
