## Description

Voxia is an assistive access technology developed by Expertiqa Technologies for people with severe physical or speech limitations, including those living with ALS, cerebral palsy, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury, and other neurological conditions. Its neck-worn device detects intentional vocal cord vibration, such as a simple hum, and converts it into real-time control input. This offers an alternative for people who cannot reliably use hand movement, eye tracking, head control, or breath-based interfaces.

Voxia is a control interface, not a speech-generating device. It enables users to operate compatible AAC systems, computers, tablets, smartphones, and smart home hubs, allowing existing software to provide communication and other functions. The lightweight wearable is designed for continuous use and uses contact-based sensing, so background noise has minimal impact. It connects primarily through Bluetooth, with USB and standard switch interfaces also supported.

Expertiqa is developing Voxia for people who have exhausted or are nearing the limits of current access technologies.
