## Description

ExtremWetterKongress (EWK) is an interdisciplinary conference in Germany focused on extreme weather in the context of climate change. It brings scientists, specialist experts and the public together to share research, improve understanding and discuss the effects of extreme weather on society. The event aims to communicate complex scientific topics clearly and encourage direct dialogue, networking and practical exchange. Its speakers have included meteorologists, climate researchers, journalists and public figures.

The 16th EWK is scheduled for 23–25 September 2026 and will be hosted by HafenCity University Hamburg. The programme includes talks, workshops, an exhibition and opportunities for participation, with live streaming available for audiences unable to attend in person. The conference also supports school participation through the Wetter.Wasser.Waterkant. education weeks. EWK offers registration and ticket booking, workshop participation, partnership and exhibitor opportunities, and access to reports, recordings and event information. The event is complemented by the Deutsche KlimaManagementTagung, held at the same venue immediately afterward, connecting climate knowledge with implementation.
