## Description

Eye Bank for Restoring Sight, Nigeria is an eye tissue bank established as a joint project of the Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria and the Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind. Its establishment was backed by Federal Republic of Nigeria Decree No. 23 of May 5, 1973. Based at the Eye Institute Complex, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, in Ikeja, Lagos, the organization supports sight-saving care and eye health through the collection, processing, and distribution of donated eye tissue.

Its donor tissue is intended for cornea transplant procedures, medical education, and research into the causes and treatment of other eye diseases. The bank also encourages Nigerians to pledge eye donations, helping make tissue available for people who may benefit from corneal transplantation. Visitors can find information about its services, read testimonials and news, and use an emergency assistance form to contact the organization. Eye Bank for Restoring Sight, Nigeria is open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and shares updates through its website and social media channels.
