## Description

Stichting Ezelwelzijn is a Dutch nonprofit founded on 4 December 2014 by donkey enthusiasts committed to improving the welfare of donkeys. Run by volunteers, the foundation provides advice and practical support to donkey owners on a wide range of topics, including care, pasture access, housing, feeding and health concerns. It can also assist people who are considering acquiring a donkey or need to find a new home for one.

The foundation offers temporary shelter for donkeys whose owners can no longer care for them. After a health check, the animals may be placed with adoptive families, helping ensure they receive a loving and suitable home. Stichting Ezelwelzijn also shares information through its website and organizes activities, including open stable days and seasonal market events.

The organization depends on donations and sponsorship to support its work, and provides information for people wishing to contribute. It has held ANBI public-benefit organization status in the Netherlands since 1 January 2016.
