Based in Berlin, the EZW focuses on contemporary questions surrounding secularism, new religious movements, and psychological aspects of spirituality. Their extensive offerings include a comprehensive lexicon on religion and worldview, publications like "EZW-Texte," and a specialized newsletter that keeps subscribers updated on pressing religious themes, including antisemitism and political Islam.

The EZW also provides support for individuals grappling with their connections to religious communities, offering expert consultations and advice to those questioning the legitimacy of coaching or healing practices.
