Developed by Wube Software, a team of passionate programmers and artists based in Prague, Czech Republic, Factorio is a result of their dedication and love for computer games. Originally started by just two programmers and one artist, the team has grown to include 32 in-house professionals and contributors from around the world.

The creative heart of the team, Michal Kovařík, is the technology director who balances his time between programming and directing the game's development. Tomáš Kozelek, the managing director, has been involved in various aspects of the company since its inception. Factorio's visuals are brought to life by Albert Bertolín Soler, the art director, who is known for his obsession with details, meanings, and balance.
