FactSpace West Africa is an independent and non-partisan organization dedicated to combating misinformation, disinformation, and propaganda throughout West Africa. With a focus on Ghana and The Gambia, we lead fact-checking initiatives to ensure accurate information is readily accessible to the public. As a signatory to the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) Code of Principles, we uphold a commitment to excellence in fact-checking. Our mission extends beyond fact-checking alone; we aim to increase public knowledge, train the region's youth, and foster a community of fact-checkers throughout West Africa. In a world where misinformation threatens democracies and public health systems, young democracies in West Africa are particularly vulnerable due to the rapid growth of internet connectivity. FactSpace West Africa aims to target and correct false or misleading claims in social networks, messaging platforms, and public discourse. By promoting accuracy, rebuilding trust in media, and safeguarding democracy, we strive to combat the spread of misinformation and ensure the integrity of public engagement.
