## Description

Fair Data Society is an initiative dedicated to promoting the principles of decentralized self-sovereign data commons. It recognizes that personal data is an integral part of individual identity and should be treated with the same respect and dignity as any other inalienable aspect of humanity. Fair Data Society has set forth a comprehensive set of ethical principles for collecting, processing, and storing personal data. These principles include ownership, zero-data privacy, consent, control, and value, among others.

In addition to advocating for fair data practices, Fair Data Society also develops infrastructure and decentralized applications (dApps) to create a fairer data economy. Their flagship app, Fairdrive, offers users privacy, data ownership, and control of their digital identity through decentralized storage on Swarm. Fairdrop provides a secure and efficient way to send files without centralized servers or tracking. FairOS is an upcoming decentralized operating system that manages the resources of computers within its network. Galileo is an open-source project that allows users to use, create, and modify maps.

The Fair Data Society actively engages with the community through various channels such as GitHub, Discord, and Twitter, encouraging collaboration, development, and discussions around data privacy and society. By championing digital sovereignty and human rights, Fair Data Society aims to create a more equitable and responsible digital future.
