## Description

FairSquare is a non-profit organisation that uses rigorous research and advocacy to promote systemic change and help stop human rights abuses. It produces original findings to inform public debate and shape discussion across three specialist areas: the exploitation of migrant workers, political repression, and accountability in sport. Its work focuses mainly on Europe, the Middle East and South Asia.

On migrant workers’ rights, FairSquare examines government policies and temporary labour migration schemes, including fair recruitment, worker health, and deaths and injuries linked to heat. It also works with activists and people affected by political repression, investigating individual cases, foreign policy, and the influence of businesses and cultural bodies. In sport, the organisation advocates for more democratic governance and accountability, examining human rights abuses connected to major events and sporting institutions, including FIFA, and opposing state ownership of English football clubs.

FairSquare’s work includes research, reporting, campaigning and public advocacy. By connecting evidence with action, it seeks to challenge harmful policies and practices, support those affected by abuse, and encourage governments and institutions to meet their responsibilities.
