## Description

Familia Carmen is a Medellín-based restaurant group celebrating Colombia’s biodiversity, ingredients, and culinary traditions through creative, contemporary dining. Founded by Rob Pevitts and Carmen Angel, the group began in 2008 when they moved to Medellín to open Carmen Restaurante with Carmen’s father, Diego Angel. Rob and Carmen had started their culinary journey in San Francisco, where they graduated from Le Cordon Bleu. Over 15 years, Familia Carmen has developed a collection of restaurants with distinct concepts, welcoming settings, and a shared focus on hospitality and memorable cultural experiences. Its food and drinks highlight Colombian flavors, local products, and traditions. The portfolio includes contemporary Colombian cuisine, a historic-center restaurant with Caribbean coastal influences, and a steakhouse focused on 100% Colombian beef dry-aged in the country’s only meat-aging cellar, alongside locally raised heritage pig breeds. Familia Carmen also offers an Asian-inspired experience featuring artisanal catch from Colombia’s coasts, with an omakase menu that applies traditional Japanese techniques to local ingredients.
