## Description

Family Fascination is an Australian genealogy and family history research service established in 2009 and led by Frances Cairns, a qualified Family and Community Historian with more than 15 years’ experience. The business offers a personalised approach, working with clients to investigate their ancestry and uncover the stories of relatives, homes and migration to Australia. Its services include family history research, written family histories, presentation charts, family trees, local and military histories, and proof of lineage for probate or wills. Research may involve searching archives, libraries and cemetery records, examining and validating sources, investigating adoption and biological parent enquiries, and obtaining available certificates and record transcriptions. Family Fascination also assists clients with DNA testing and interpreting results, oral interviews, and training in family history research. Findings are checked against multiple sources where possible, while recognising that records may be unavailable or require in-person searches. Projects are charged at an hourly rate, with clients able to set a budget; additional record-copy and disbursement costs may apply.
