## Description

The FANAF, or Federation of African National Insurance Companies, is a professional association headquartered in Dakar, Senegal. It brings together 221 member organisations across the African insurance sector, including life and non-life insurers, microinsurance providers, reinsurers and automobile guarantee funds. The federation supports the development of the industry through representation, promotion and professional training, while encouraging members to exchange experience and strengthen their organisations’ resilience.

FANAF provides information and resources on African insurance markets, including statistics, regulatory materials, technical dossiers and publications such as L’Assureur Africain. Its online resources also feature a directory of member companies, market brochures and an annual member directory. The association organises seminars, market forums and other events addressing topics such as insurance governance and health insurance, and shares industry news and updates. Through its events, documentation and professional network, FANAF helps connect insurance stakeholders and promote knowledge across the continent. Its website also introduces the federation’s governance bodies, partners and activities, and offers access to media resources and information about membership.
