## Description

The Society for Fantasy Research (Gesellschaft für Fantastikforschung e. V., or GFF) is a scholarly association dedicated to advancing the study of fantasy and the fantastic in art, literature, and culture across the German-speaking world. Its work aims to foster research on a scientific basis and deepen cultural and academic understanding of these fields. The society brings together people interested in exploring the fantastic across disciplines and welcomes new members.

The GFF supports this research through several activities and publications. Its interdisciplinary Journal of Fantasy Research (Zeitschrift für Fantastikforschung, or ZFF) provides a forum for scholarship, and the society invites contributions to the journal. It also organizes annual meetings: international academic conferences addressing a wide range of aspects of the fantastic. The society offers a dissertation prize and provides information about membership and its association. Through its journal, conferences, and scholarly community, the GFF connects researchers and promotes informed discussion of fantasy in cultural contexts.
