## Description

The Equestrian Club at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) brings together students who share an interest in horses, whether they are experienced riders or complete beginners. Founded in 2009, the club has grown from four members to a community of more than 30, with opportunities for both competitive and non-competitive participation. Members can attend club events, take riding lessons at a university discount, join social activities, and support fundraisers and community volunteering, including work with Horses Healing Hearts.

FAU’s Hunt Seat Show Team competes in the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA), with divisions ranging from beginner to open. Riders do not need to own a horse: host colleges provide competition horses, which are assigned by drawing lots. Team members take weekly lessons with the head coach and may qualify for regional and national championships through successful competition. The club also hosts IHSA and local schooling shows to support its travel team. Membership is open to full-time FAU students, with club and show-team dues and additional participation requirements for competitors.
