## Description

The Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa is a proud sovereign Ojibwe nation, one of the six Bands of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe. With over 4,200 members, they uphold all of their rights retained and agreed to within the 1825, 1826, 1837, 1842, 1847, and 1854 Treaties. At the Fond du Lac Reservation, which includes Bapashkominitigong (Cloquet), Gwaaba'iganing (Sawyer), and Ashkibwaakaaning (Brookston) districts, they offer a wide range of services and programs to their community. These include agriculture, community services, emergency awareness, education (including an Ojibwe School K-12 and Tribal College), housing, human resources, human services, IT division, planning division, police department, resource management, scholarships, and staff benefits. The Fond du Lac Band is also the proud operator of various enterprises, such as Aaniin Fiber Services, Black Bear Casino Resort, Black Bear Golf Course, Fond-du-Luth Casino, Northwoods Radio, FDL Gas & Grocery, FDL Propane, and FDL Sand & Gravel. Their commitment to their Ojibwe culture is evident through their Ojibwemowin Museum and FDL Logo History.
