# Featherledger - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `featherledger.site` ## Description Featherledger is a beginner’s field notebook for discovering birds in cities. Its practical approach encourages readers to learn familiar neighborhood species before searching for rarities, building identification skills through observation, listening and note-taking. The site offers three short guides covering how to get started, ethical birdwatching and urban habitats, alongside field cards for 14 common urban species. The cards can be filtered by habitat and size, and provide identification features, behavior, calls, measurements and habitat information. Featherledger explains useful bird anatomy and recommends simple observation habits, such as walking slowly, revisiting the same route and noting a bird’s shape and behavior before consulting a guide. Beginners can start without equipment, with binocular advice for those who choose to buy a pair. Its ethics guidance prioritizes bird welfare: keep a respectful distance, avoid nests, playback and baiting, and protect sensitive locations when sharing sightings. The habitat guide highlights parks, waterways, streets, buildings and vacant lots, helping readers know where to look. Featherledger makes urban birdwatching accessible while encouraging careful, considerate observation. ## Industries - 🎸 Hobbies and Leisure - 🎸 Camping Scouting and Outdoors _(under Hobbies and Leisure)_ - 🐶 Pets and Animals - 🐶 Birds _(under Pets and Animals)_ ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG, SVG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/iduQqVpDs3/w/820/h/820/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1791298186574) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Merino | #f7f3e8 | accent | | Killarney | #2c5a3a | dark | ## Fonts - var(--serif) — asset _(custom)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
