## Description

The Festival de Cine de Trujillo (FECIT) is a Peruvian film festival dedicated to developing, promoting, and showcasing national cinema, with particular attention to films made across the country’s regions. Since its first edition in 2014, it has grown into a major decentralized platform for film exhibition and circulation, connecting audiences with filmmakers and their work. Its 13th edition is scheduled for October 16–24, 2026, with nine days of screenings and activities in Trujillo and nearby communities.

FECIT presents Peruvian feature films and shorts in fiction, documentary, and emerging-filmmaker competitions, alongside special screenings, retrospectives, and tributes. Its program also includes in-person and online workshops, conversations with filmmakers, industry meetings, and discussions of film criticism and audiovisual decentralization. The festival’s Caravana de Cine takes screenings to districts and plazas, bringing Peruvian cinema to communities with limited access to cultural events. Many listed screenings offer free admission. Organized by a team of cultural managers and partner associations, FECIT has showcased more than 800 films and reached audiences across over 18 regions.
