The Federation of Southern Cooperatives/Land Assistance Fund is a renowned regional cooperative and rural economic development organization serving Black farmers, landowners, cooperatives, and low-income rural communities in the South. With a history rooted in the Civil Rights movement, our primary mission is to protect and preserve Black-owned farms and land. We are committed to building self-supporting communities and offer a range of programs focused on increasing income and creating opportunities for our members.

Our comprehensive services include cooperative development, land retention, and advocacy. We actively operate across multiple states including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia. As a locally led and regionally coordinated organization, we strive to empower our members and ensure a sustainable and thriving future for all family farmers.
