## Description

Federation 54 is a free, collaborative Star Trek writing community set in the 33rd century, generations after the Burn. Writers worldwide build stories in the Saanvik Drift, an original frontier where the 54th Expeditionary Fleet is tasked with reaching, mapping, and reconnecting isolated worlds. Members can create officers, ships, species, worlds, factions, and technologies, beginning in personal canon and proposing contributions for review and promotion into the shared universe.

The community uses a three-tier canon model to help many writers shape one coherent setting. Approved creations become part of a living Codex, with public dossiers and articles that record the Drift’s developing history. Writers can draft serialized logs connected to their characters and ships, then publish them in the Fleet Archives, where stories are free to read without an account. Federation 54 also offers setting materials, fleet and ship registries, campaigns, reading paths, and guidance on how to participate. No prior experience is required, and AI tools are welcome as writing aids, provided members remain the authors of their work.
