## Description

Fennovoima is a Finnish energy company established in 2007. The company developed the Hanhikivi 1 nuclear power project, but its plant delivery contract with Rosatom was terminated in spring 2022, bringing the project to an end. Since then, Fennovoima has focused on winding down the project, maintaining the Hanhikivi site in Pyhäjoki, and seeking to sell the site. It is also pursuing disputes against Rosatom connected with the termination of the delivery contract and has claimed damages. Fennovoima’s website provides company information, contact details, and news about these developments, including the contract termination and related claims. Based on the company’s description, its current activities center on managing the aftermath of Hanhikivi 1 rather than developing a new power plant. Founded as part of Finland’s energy sector, Fennovoima is now focused on project closeout, site stewardship and sale, and resolving the legal and commercial disagreements arising from the cancelled plant delivery agreement.
