## Description

The Festival de Mourèze is a community-rooted music and street arts festival set among the dolomite rock formations of Mourèze, in France’s Hérault region near Lake Salagou. Founded by local music and nature enthusiasts in 2005, it grew from an initiative by the association Les Bacchanales de Mourèze and brings performances to the village’s distinctive natural surroundings. Its programme combines live concerts with street theatre, artistic walks and eco-circus outings led by Philippe Martin, which explore local wildlife, geology and landscapes. Concerts take place in the Parc des Courtinals, a green, rocky outdoor venue near the village entrance, while street performances are held in a nearby clearing. Some shows are offered at a free-choice price. The festival also shares an archive, photo gallery, past performers and a playlist, and invites visitors to volunteer. Its website features details for the 2026 edition, including a July 29 to August 1 schedule, while also displaying an official cancellation announcement. The 2024 edition reported four concert evenings, three shows and two walks.
