## Description

The International Karl Ditters of Dittersdorf Music Festival is an annual classical music event organized by the Association of Karl Ditters of Dittersdorf in the Jeseník region of the Czech Republic. Founded in 1993, it celebrates composer Karl Ditters of Dittersdorf, who lived and worked in the region for 25 years, and highlights the area’s musical heritage. The festival presents concerts by professional Czech and international performers, alongside young musicians and local amateur ensembles. Its varied programme focuses on classical music while also including occasional jazz and folk performances, contemporary works and compositions by Dittersdorf. The festival aims to bring high-quality live music to residents and visitors in this border region, with concerts arranged in cooperation with local towns and communities. Beyond performances, the association researches, collects, archives and revives lesser-known or neglected works by Dittersdorf, and promotes his legacy through educational lectures, meetings and publications. The festival receives support from public funding and private partners, including the Ministry of Culture and the Olomouc Region.
