## Description

The Festival Pablo Casals is a summer music festival based in Prades, in the Pyrénées region of northern Catalonia. Founded in 1950, it celebrates chamber music and the legacy of the visionary cellist and humanitarian Pablo Casals, bringing internationally recognized performers, emerging musicians and adventurous programming together each year. The 2026 festival runs from 28 July to 8 August, with concerts at venues including the Abbey of Saint-Michel de Cuxa, local churches and other cultural sites.

Its programme spans chamber music performances, appearances by the Festival Orchestra and its ensembles, and events showcasing young talent through the Jeunes Talents & Friends series. The festival also presents children’s events, including the Brundibár opera, and talks such as a conference on the Catalan pessebre tradition. Visitors can explore programme details, book tickets online and find practical information about prices, accommodation and dining. To help audiences reach concerts at the abbey, the festival also offers car-sharing coordination and minibus shuttles.
