## Description

Festival parních lokomotiv is a Czech railway heritage event focused on historic steam locomotives and other vintage rail vehicles. Based in Benešov u Prahy, the festival brings together railway enthusiasts, families, photographers, and visitors interested in the history of rail travel. Its program features special steam and motor train journeys, locomotive displays and turntable demonstrations, depot exhibitions, and dedicated night photography sessions. Visitors can also explore model railways, enjoy children’s film screenings and rides on a garden railway, and purchase refreshments, drinks, souvenirs, and festival merchandise. The event offers admission tickets and rail passes, including limited-seat tickets for selected special trains, with advance sales typically priced below on-site purchases. The festival’s organizers also welcome financial contributions from supporters who cannot attend. After seven years, the large-scale festival is concluding because of legislative and operating constraints, including the introduction of the ETCS system. The organizers intend to continue supporting the historic locomotive Albatros 498.022 and hope to meet visitors at smaller railway events, nostalgic journeys, and other heritage gatherings.
