## Description

Fresno Gem & Mineral Society is a nonprofit organization founded in 1951 to encourage interest, knowledge, appreciation, and the artistic side of mineralogy. Based in California’s Central Valley, the society brings together more than 250 members of varied ages and interests who share a passion for rocks, gems, and minerals.

The society offers members access to its clubhouse, monthly general meetings, and group outings. Its year-round activities include classes, field trips, gem shows, and other community events, including participation in the annual Gem & Mineral Show and the Big Fresno Fair. These activities provide opportunities to learn, explore, and enjoy the world of rocks and minerals together.

The organization is sustained by dedicated volunteers, and proceeds support the society as well as designated local geology scholarships at Fresno City College and Fresno State. Fresno Gem & Mineral Society is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. People interested in learning more about its programs and community can explore membership and event opportunities through the society.
