## Description

Fibersort is an innovative textile sorting technology designed to enhance recycling processes by accurately identifying and separating textiles based on fiber composition and color. Utilizing advanced Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) and RGB camera technologies, Fibersort efficiently analyzes materials, currently trained to recognize six fiber types: wool, cotton, polyester, viscose, acrylic, and nylon. The system employs sophisticated machine learning algorithms to predict the fiber content, addressing the challenges posed by the diverse nature of textiles that often confound traditional sorting methods.

By offering both manual and semi-automatic options, Fibersort supports eco-friendly practices by reducing the need for dyeing in the recycling process, which is typically associated with significant environmental pollution. The RGB camera enhances color sorting capabilities for both single-colored and multi-colored textiles, improving efficiency and sustainability in textile waste management. Valvan, the company behind Fibersort, remains dedicated to maintaining an updated database of textiles, ensuring the technology continues to advance and meet the evolving demands of the recycling industry.
