## Description

The International Capoeira Federation (FIC) is an organization founded in Brazil in 1999 and developing its activities in Portugal. It presents Capoeira as both cultural heritage and a sport, working to promote the practice internationally and strengthen connections across the global Capoeira community. Its work includes supporting cultural promotion, creating social inclusion initiatives, providing technical training, and facilitating international exchange among practitioners across five continents. Through its CAPOEIRA-DO program, FIC aims to develop masters and students and support greater standardization in Capoeira training. The federation also organizes events that bring together practitioners and audiences, including international gatherings for masters and students, world championship competitions, and seminars on social inclusion. These activities combine workshops, open rodas, athletic competition, and discussion of Capoeira’s social impact. FIC describes its approach through the values of identity, tradition, and high-level sport, while encouraging cultural exchange and community participation. Based in Loures, Portugal, the organization provides contact channels for people seeking information or engagement with its work.
