# Field Fab - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `fieldfab.net` ## Description Field Fab is a design tool for HVAC field technicians who need to plan and build ductwork more efficiently. Rather than constructing each piece through repeated on-site measuring and trial and error, users can enter as few as seven measurements to generate accurately measured models for cutting. These measurements can help technicians plan cutting lines, conserve sheet metal, reduce material waste, and save time. Field Fab is also designed to make complex jobs easier to manage: technicians can take measurements in the field and review the resulting ductwork model in a more comfortable workspace before building it. Using augmented reality, the app projects a structurally accurate 3D representation into the user’s surroundings through a phone camera, providing a visual preview of the design. Since sheet metal cannot simply be uncut, Field Fab includes an undo feature for revising designs.
