## Description

The Ballmertshofer Filmfest is a volunteer-run village film festival in Ballmertshofen, bringing audiences together for cinema, community activities and outdoor fun. Its 49th edition takes place from July 31 to August 2, 2026, with a programme of 13 films, including feature films, documentaries and free children’s screenings. Selected screenings include conversations with filmmakers or guests, giving visitors opportunities to explore the stories and ideas behind the films.

Beyond the cinema, the festival offers yoga, a fun run, football, table football, backgammon and Spike-Ball tournaments, a clown workshop, a children’s magic show, talks, live music and evening campfires. Visitors can camp on site, and food and refreshments are available, including breakfast, meals, cakes and snacks. Film tickets cost €6, children’s films are free, and the concert costs €5; payment is cash only.

The festival is sustained by around 35 volunteers. Organisers are also raising funds for a documentary about the event’s history and future, with a premiere planned for September 2026.
