## Description

Liz Doody is an artist whose abstract paintings explore color, form, texture, and emotion through expressive compositions. Working primarily with cold wax and oil, she creates layered surfaces with a distinctive textured and translucent effect. Some pieces also incorporate materials such as paper, sand, or earth, while individual markings add personal meaning to each work.

Doody’s art is shaped by her experiences and surroundings. Much of her inspiration comes from time spent in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, where the vivid ocean and landscape, along with the island’s peace and tranquility, influenced her visual language. Although Hurricane Irma forced her to leave, those memories and feelings continue to inform her work. Now based in New Kent, Virginia, she also draws ideas from travel and new environments, interpreting the world through shapes and textures connected to emotion.

Her online portfolio presents original works, including abstract art, abstract landscapes, and stacked houses, with pieces spanning 2021 to 2026. Liz Doody welcomes fine art inquiries, commissions, and studio visit requests.
