## Description

The Firecracker Run is a nonprofit community event held annually in East Moline, Illinois, with the 44th annual race scheduled for July 4, 2026. Presented by MercyOne Genesis, the event brings residents and visitors together for a morning of running, walking, and family-friendly activities. Participants can choose from several events, including a 10K, a 5K Run/Walk, and the IMEG Mile. The program also features a Kiddie Run for younger participants, hospital bed races, and an awards ceremony. Registration information, race details, course maps, results, and packet pick-up information are available through the event’s website. Volunteers and sponsors help support the event, with the organization thanking its supporters for their contributions. Proceeds benefit tangible community projects, reflecting the Firecracker Run’s commitment to supporting the local community. The event also welcomes participants to discover East Moline’s people and history while taking part in its Independence Day celebrations. By combining multiple race distances with activities for children and community groups, the Firecracker Run offers an inclusive way to celebrate the holiday and contribute to local initiatives.
