## Description

Fireside Fiction Company is a pioneering creative platform established in 2012, dedicated to discovering and publishing exceptional stories across all genres while ensuring fair compensation for writers and artists. Initially launched as a Kickstarter-funded short-story magazine, Fireside has evolved into two main branches: Fireside Magazine and Fireside Books. Though Fireside Magazine ceased publications in 2022 after a successful decade, the company's commitment to fair pay remains strong, providing rates well above industry standards—12.5 cents per word for prose and $100 for poems. Fireside’s efforts have not only spotlighted diverse voices but also initiated important dialogues within the speculative fiction community, particularly through its #BlackSpecFic report. The company supports its readership with content notes to help avoid potentially triggering material, ensuring a thoughtful reading experience. Under the leadership of founder Brian White, Fireside Fiction continues to champion creativity and inclusivity, making it a notable name in the literary landscape.
