## Description

Firestorm is a vibrant worker-owned bookstore and community hub located in Asheville, North Carolina, established in May 2008. As a queer, feminist collective, Firestorm aims to foster inclusivity by providing a welcoming, sober, and anti-oppressive space. The store features a thoughtfully curated selection of literature that highlights marginalized voices, with a focus on underground and independently published works from notable publishers like AK Press and Haymarket Books. In addition to an extensive catalog spanning fiction, nonfiction, and children's literature, Firestorm organizes a variety of events, workshops, and screenings that enrich the cultural landscape of the region. Demonstrating a commitment to ethical practices, the collective prioritizes cooperative decision-making and reinvests its earnings back into the community. This unique approach not only champions anarchist principles but also nurtures personal empowerment among its members. Whether you're seeking critical literature or a space for community engagement, Firestorm stands as a beacon of alternative economic models and social justice in the South.
