## Description

Firkin Crane is a dance-focused arts organisation and performance venue in Shandon, Cork, dedicated to dance and its development in the city. Its programme brings together performances, professional classes and workshops, and visual arts exhibitions, offering opportunities for audiences, artists and dance practitioners to engage with creative work. Events take place in spaces including the Smurfit Theatre, Smurfit Studio and Crane Visual’s Musgrave Gallery. Recent listings include an improvisation-led professional class with Zoë Ashe-Browne, an exhibition presented with The Butter Museum, and Wanjiru Kamuyu’s performance An Immigrant’s Story, which explores place, belonging and otherness. Firkin Crane also supports artists through studio and venue rental, with information about spaces, specifications, rates and policies available to prospective renters. Its work includes Inclusive Dance Cork (IDC), and the organisation invites the community to attend events, subscribe for updates, become a friend, donate or sponsor its activities. Located on John Redmond Street, Firkin Crane provides a welcoming point of connection for dance and arts in Cork.
