## Description

Chesterfield Community First Responders (CCFRS) is a registered charity serving Chesterfield and surrounding towns and villages in partnership with East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS). Its volunteer responders are trained by EMAS to provide lifesaving care when seconds count, attending emergency calls dispatched through 999 and 111. Equipped with defibrillators, oxygen and basic drugs, responders can often arrive before an ambulance.

CCFRS also helps local people prepare for emergencies through free CPR and defibrillator-awareness sessions for schools, clubs, workplaces and community groups. Alongside its operational responders, the charity welcomes volunteers to support community education, fundraising, collections, administration, social media and governance. Volunteers begin with an induction and can choose a role that suits them, with the option to train for operational response.

Donations help fund equipment, training and response vehicles. The charity is currently raising money for a shared, insured pool car so more volunteers can reach emergency calls. CCFRS is registered with the Fundraising Regulator and is a member of NCVO.
