## Description

The American Chemical Society Florida Local Section (FL-ACS) is a scientific community focused on inspiring scientific excellence in Florida. It brings people together through events, volunteer opportunities, and the Florida Annual Meeting and Exposition (FAME), where students at all levels can present their research. FAME includes symposia, a research showcase, and opportunities to submit abstracts, register, become a sponsor, or exhibit. The 2026 conference is scheduled for September 18–20 at Innisbrook Resort, and the 2027 conference is announced for September 24–26 at the resort in Palm Harbor. FL-ACS also shares information about conference organizers, programs, past events, and its Florida Award Conference. The section encourages volunteers to help advance its goals and promotes volunteering and scholarships connected with FAME. Its executive officers lead the organization, while its five-year strategic plan, developed in 2023 with input from the executive committee and members, provides strategic direction. Newsletters and contact options help members and visitors stay informed and connect with the section.
