## Description

Flashpoint Archive is a community-driven project dedicated to preserving games and animations from the web. With the ever-evolving nature of the internet, it's crucial to safeguard these digital experiences before they become obsolete. Since its inception in December 2017, Flashpoint Archive has successfully preserved over 170,000 games and animations across various browser plugins and web technologies. In addition to preservation, Flashpoint Archive also offers a versatile software package that ensures seamless navigation and playback of preserved content. This includes a comprehensive launcher acting as a frontend for the collection, a proxy that mimics live web interactions for games, and a secure sandbox for plugin-enabled content. All of these software elements are open-source, showcasing the collaborative effort behind this initiative. Originally initiated by BlueMaxima to counter the loss of web games preceding the discontinuation of Flash, Flashpoint Archive has grown into a global undertaking, involving contributions from hundreds of community members worldwide. As a non-profit organization, Flashpoint Archive aims to advance the preservation and accessibility of games, animations, and other digital interactive experiences from the web.
