## Description

FlightShield® is a pre-flight risk briefing tool from FlightShield Ltd, designed to help general aviation pilots identify hazards they might otherwise overlook. Pilots can enter a route, departure time, aircraft details, recent experience and personal limits, or upload a flight plan in .fpl, .gpx or .pln format. The service retrieves live meteorological, airfield and other data to generate a flight risk briefing in under 60 seconds.

The briefing organizes relevant considerations and calculates a risk score in real time. Its assessment covers factors such as pilot recency and experience, fatigue, weather, wind and crosswind, terrain, airport conditions, runway length and surface, obstacles, flight rules, and available approaches. Users can review the categorized risks and save their answers with the briefing. FlightShield also provides an airfield directory and publishes terms of use, a legal disclaimer and a privacy policy.

The company presents FlightShield as a supplementary situational-awareness aid, not a replacement for an official pre-flight briefing. Its purpose is to support pilots in recognizing flight risks before departure.
