## Description

Flopcoin is a community-driven, open-source cryptocurrency project built around a Layer 1 blockchain that uses Proof of Work. Its playful identity celebrates the failed, forgotten, and hilarious, while its network is presented as decentralized, community-owned, and without a company or CEO. Flopcoin uses the Scrypt mining algorithm, also used by Litecoin and Dogecoin, and supports merge mining alongside existing Scrypt operations without additional energy use. The project highlights low transaction fees and fast confirmations.

Users can manage FLOP with Flopcoin Core, a full-node reference wallet that gives users control over their funds, or Komodo Wallet, a non-custodial option with cross-chain and atomic swap capabilities. The Flopcoin ecosystem also provides block explorers and network statistics, mining pools, a faucet, and access to community channels such as Discord and Twitter/X. FLOP is listed among the exchanges and services linked from the project website. Source code and releases are available for those who want to review or use the software.
