## Description

FloraSA is an online biodiversity resource featuring information on the plants, algae, fungi and lichens of South Australia. The website covers species that are native to the state as well as naturalised, including weedy, species, and draws on State Herbarium of South Australia collections and expertise. Its catalogue includes vascular plants, such as ferns, gymnosperms and flowering plants; bryophytes, including mosses, liverworts and hornworts; algae; fungi, principally macrofungi; and lichens.

Users can search by scientific or common name, explore taxonomic groups, and refine results using filters such as major group, taxonomic rank, native status, herbarium region and conservation status. Taxon profiles provide available details on names, classification, descriptions, distribution, habitat, images and related synonyms. Distribution records and search results can be downloaded in CSV format where available.

FloraSA also offers interactive identification keys hosted on KeyBase, a glossary, census listings, publications, factsheets and links to botanical resources. The platform supports exploration and identification of South Australia’s biodiversity, with information compiled from herbarium records, publications and the state’s current species census.
