## Description

The Florida Python Challenge™ is an engaging conservation initiative aimed at safeguarding the unique ecosystems of the Florida Everglades from the invasive Burmese python. This thrilling competition invites participants to compete in removing these nonnative snakes, which threaten local wildlife, including rare birds, mammals, and reptiles. The event runs from August 9 to August 18, 2024, and fosters a spirit of community involvement and ecological responsibility.

Participants must complete a required online training course and can access a comprehensive tool kit to prepare for the challenge. The competition not only offers a chance to win prizes but also promotes awareness about the importance of protecting the Everglades and its native species. With support from organizations such as the Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida and the South Florida Water Management District, the Florida Python Challenge™ serves as a vital platform for education and action against invasive species. Join this vital effort and help preserve the incredible biodiversity of the Everglades!
