## Description

Flying Doctor Memory Lane is a no-cost service offered by the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Victorian Section) for people receiving end-of-life or palliative care. It helps patients make a safe, comfortable journey to a place that holds personal meaning, whether that is a much-loved garden, the seaside, or a location where they can be with family, friends, and pets. The service recognises that a meaningful visit can bring comfort and connection to patients, while also creating valued memories and a sense of closure for those close to them.

Memory Lane uses custom-built vehicles to help overcome access barriers for people who may otherwise be unable to make such a journey. Drawing on the Royal Flying Doctor Service’s experience transporting people to health and wellbeing services, the program supports patients and their carers through the journey process. People can request a journey, refer someone in their care, volunteer, or support the service through donations, including gifts made in memory of a loved one.
