## Description

Fondazione Ri.MED is a biomedical and biotechnology research foundation based in Palermo, Italy. Established by decree of the President of the Council of Ministers, it grew from an international partnership involving the Italian Government, the Sicilian Region, Italy’s National Research Council, the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC. The foundation promotes, supports and conducts research projects, with a focus on moving innovative findings into clinical practice and improving health and quality of life.

Its work includes research in regenerative medicine and cell therapies, preclinical and clinical research, technology transfer, patent development and collaboration with research and healthcare partners, including IRCCS-ISMETT. Ri.MED also supports scientific education and public engagement through training, events and research seminars, and provides opportunities for researchers and trainees. A major initiative is the development of the Ri.MED Research Center, planned as an international hub for researchers. The foundation sustains its research through grants, partnerships and public support, while sharing updates about its projects, events and opportunities through its website and newsletter.
